The Head of Communications and Public Events for Charterhouse, Robert Klah, has praised actor Prince David Osei for issuing an apology to Ghanaians following his recent comments about President-elect John Dramani Mahama, which sparked fury on social media.
In an interview on Hitz FM on December 11, 2024, Robert Klah expressed satisfaction with the actor’s decision to apologise in the midst of the backlash.
“I like the fact that Prince David Osei apologised. It was a good decision on his part,” Robert Klah said
Regarding the actor’s claim that it was his cousins who might have made the comments about the president, Mr. Klah further advised him to avoid repeating such mistakes in the future.
“Next time, he should not leave his phone with his friends or cousins to avoid such things from happening,” Klah added.
Background
It could be recalled that following John Mahama’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, Prince David Osei shared a now-deleted message congratulating the president-elect. In the post, he expressed his aspirations of becoming president one day.
However, the comment drew widespread backlash, with many social media users criticising him.
In a heated exchange, the actor responded to a critic by labeling the person a “fool” and questioning why he couldn’t aspire to be president, pointing out that even a “drunkard” had been elected.
The statements were widely seen as an insult to Mahama, triggering anger among many Ghanaians, particularly NDC supporters.
