The Greater Accra Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Robert Amesiya, has admonished Managers of health facilities to pay attention to and invest in, the maintenance of their facilities and equipment to enhance their optimal operation and life span.

He laments the growing incidence of facilities and equipment left to rot in various localities.

Dr Amesiya observed that Government invests heavily in both infrastructure and equipment right from the CHPS compound level to the Teaching hospital level but regrets that such facilities or equipment do not usually run their full course due to a lack of or poor maintenance routine.

Speaking at the launch of a specialized engineering and health technology services provider in Accra, the Regional Director said it was “heart wrenching that huge investments fail to benefit the people because managers and supervisors fail to adopt and stick to simple, periodic, maintenance schedules”.

Drawing on lessons from the Upper West Regional Hospital where he served immediately before his appointment to the Greater Accra Region, Dr Amesiya said “it remained one of the best facilities with state-of-the-art equipment till date due to the rigorous maintenance routine we implemented and stuck to.”

“We simply could not allow the huge investments made into the facility and equipment go to waste”, he added.

The launched healthcare solutions provider, Jayvitamed Limited Company (JLC) is set to provide Hospital Construction and Equipment Installation services, Medical Equipment Installation and Maintenance, MEP Installation and Maintenance, Low current systems, medical gasses services, training services, civil and architectural works, power systems and medical consumables.

Duly registered and regulatory compliant, JLC also assures trust, quality, reliability and value with client centeredness as it serves both private and public health facilities.

Chief Executive Office of JLC, Joshua Gbogryanga, told a cross-section of partners, facility owners and managers, technical people and healthcare practitioners gathered at the launch that it was “time to unite to make medical services affordable to our people.”

“Let us provide life-saving devices to our underserved areas”, he said.

Gbogryanga who is a Civil Engineer and Project Management Practitioner told the guests JCL was here to help make a change. He invited all stakeholders to partner the company in its service provision.

“We bring with us vision, expertise, dedication and innovation to make a difference, but we cannot do it alone.”

In a high note of confidence, the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Robert Amesiya vouched, “Joshua was instrumental in our success story with the facility and equipment management of the Upper West Regional Hospital. His expertise and dedication can be trusted.”
