Popstar Lily Allen has been unflinchingly honest in the past about her tumultuous love life – and has now fuelled suggestions her ‘happily ever after’ marriage to David Harbour is over.

She wed the Stranger Things star actor five years ago, in what was her second marriage – her first to builder Sam Cooper having broken down, with Allen later revealing she cheating on him with female escorts.

Chart-topping singer Allen, 39, has also spoken in the past of her ‘mile high club’ romp with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher on a flight to Japan in 2009.

Now she is said to have posted a profile on the dating app Raya, describing herself as ‘Looking for someone to start couples therapy with’ and ‘visiting Los Angeles from New York’.

Allen, whose hits include Smile and The Fear, had seemed to find happiness with American actor Harbour, 49, after a rocky record with previous relationships.

The musician, whose parents are comic actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, has ex-lovers including Ed Simons of DJ duo the Chemical Brothers, art dealer Jay Jopling and grime MC Meridian Dan.

She has also been romantically linked at different times with actor Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, and One Direction singer Zayn Malik.

Now her Raya profile has reportedly popped up for users of the high-end dating website who have told the app they are women interested in dating other women.

A friend told DailyMail.com that Allen had created a profile on Raya, but said the singer wasn’t actively searching for dates, partly because she hasn’t yet divorced and ‘she takes marriage very seriously’.

Allen has previously spoken about meeting Harbour on Raya and appears now to have reactivated her account.

The news comes after her admission on her popular podcast Miss Me? last week that she was ‘not in a great place mentally’ and ‘bored of men’.

She has previously spoken out about having sexual experiences with women – including hiring a ‘high-class hooker’ three or four times ‘during the breakdown of my last marriage’, according to her 2018 autobiography My Thoughts Exactly.

In recent video clips of the podcast she co-presents with Miquita Oliver, Allen’s left hand was missing the large diamond David gave her in 2019.

She was also without it when she attended an addiction awareness event in London earlier this month.

Allen unfollowed Harbour on social media last year, and a source claimed to The Sun at the time that the couple were ‘living separate lives’.

She announced on the December 16 episode of her twice-weekly BBC podcast that she was ‘bored of men’, that she had been going to couples therapy with Harbour, and that while ‘going through some difficult stuff’ she had ‘screamed’ at her kids.

Allen said: ‘I exploded and screamed at the kids. I was like, “I can’t handle this at the moment; I’m going through so much, I need you two to behave yourselves”.’

She then explained to them: ‘We’re all going through some difficult stuff at the moment, so I apologise, and I’m sorry.’

She told friend and co-host Oliver: ‘I’m having a bit of a rough time of it at the moment, but I’m trying to soldier on.’

In another segment she described Aaron Batterham, the boyfriend of her mother Alison, as a ‘pillar of support’ and ‘the main male person in my life that is great and supportive to me’ – with no mention of David.

She and the New York-based actor were first linked in January 2019 when they attended the BAFTA Tea Party together and Allem was spotted with an engagement ring the same year.

Speaking later on The Jonathan Ross Show, Allen said she met Harbour on Raya, where his profile picture showed him in costume as his Stranger Things character Chief Jim Hopper – but she did not recognise him.

She told the show: ‘I didn’t know who he was. I thought he was just like a sexy policeman from a reality TV show.’

They tied the knot in September 2020, having spent much of the first Covid-19 lockdown together in New York.

Lily Allen, 39, has spoken of going to therapy to work through things after relocating to New York with her children Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 11, and husband David Harbour

Harbour has taken on the role of stepfather to Lily’s two daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, from her relationship with builder-decorator Sam Cooper, to whom she was married from 2011 to 2018.

Before that relationship, Allen dated DJ Seb Chew between 2005 and 2007 and then the Chemical Brothers’ Ed Simons for five months starting in September 2007.

She announced in January 2008 that she had suffered a miscarriage.

Later that year she was reported to have gone on dates with Grint, before being seen with Jopling in 2009 – the same year, she later revealed, she slept with Liam Gallagher.

Allen wrote in her 2018 autobiography that the Oasis rock star had urged her to keep their encounter secret at the time, because he was still married to All Saints singer Nicole Appleton.

She told of meeting him on a plane on the way to Japan for the Fuji Rock Festival in when they proceeded to get ‘hammered’ together and have sex in the toilets, before heading to his hotel together after landing.

She wrote: ‘We got hammered on the plane. At some point Liam and I found ourselves together in the toilet doing something that he shouldn’t have been doing, and it wasn’t drugs. Then we were in a lie-down bed together.

‘When we landed in Tokyo, Liam said, in his distinctive nasal twang, “What you doing now? Why don’t you come back to our hotel?” I was like, “Yeah, OK”.

Lily Allen’s recollection of mid-air sex in an aeroplane toilet with then-married Liam Gallagher in 2009 resurfaced earlier this year after news of Oasis’s reunion tour was announced

‘It wasn’t until the next day when he said something like, “No one can hear about this because of Nic”, then I clocked he was married.

‘I knew Noel was married and I knew Liam had been married to Patsy Kensit. That was partly why I fancied him.’

Meanwhile, Allen has also opened up about her dalliances with female sex workers during her own first marriage.

In June this year, she told an episode of her Miss Me? podcast, ‘During the breakdown of my last marriage, I was very promiscuous and experimental, and I had sex with female prostitutes’ – before correcting herself to say ‘sex workers’.

She added: ‘I knew that this thing existed and that I’d been behaving this way, and I thought that was going to be revealed, so I thought I’d take a bit of the power back and reveal it myself [in her book, My Thoughts Exactly].’

She later joked that she hoped her husband Harbour was not listening, and described herself as currently sexually unadventurous and ‘vanilla’.

Allen previously told the Guardian in 2018 how she got ‘pretty brazen’ acting outside her first marriage, saying: ‘I think I just didn’t care.

‘Actually, maybe I did want to get caught, maybe I wanted Sam to rescue me. I wanted him to find out about these things and say, “Enough is enough, you’re coming home”.’

In other frank revelations on her podcast, Allen said in April this year of not knowing when she lost her viriginity but described it as ‘pretty traumatising’.

She told listeners about sleeping with a much older man while on holiday in Brazil with her dad Keith Allen and younger brother Alfie, and also having sex with a classmate.

She recalled: ‘One was a guy who was quite a lot older than me called Fernando in Brazil. I went on holiday with my dad and my brother.

‘It’s actually pretty traumatising, as are most of my childhood stories and escapades.

‘We went on holiday to Brazil, to this weird hotel. And it was like a sort of sporty resort and there was professional footballers teaching my brother and stuff how to play football.

‘Anyway I met this guy called Fernando in the bar and we went back to his room and I stayed over. And me and Alfie were sharing a bedroom and I fell asleep in his room and I didn’t go back to my room.

‘So my dad woke up the next day, went to go and check on me and I wasn’t in the room and there was a full on panic.’

She revealed the police were called and had feared that she had drowned, putting her off having sex again ‘for a while’.

Lily Allen, pictured at the 2024 Tribeca Festival in New York in June this year, is reported to have reactivated an account on the high-end dating app Raya

She added that she hated the pressure on women over losing their virginity, arguing that implied something negative and put to much importance on the idea of purity.

Allen also said she was already talking to her two daughters, Ethel, 13, and 11-year-old Marnie about sex and vowed to make sure they had no ‘shame’.

Both children were born during her marriage to Sam Cooper, to whom Allen became engaged during a holiday in the Indonesian island of Bali in December 2010.

During their time together, Allen described him as a ‘normal bloke’ and ‘the love of my life’, adding: ‘Sam treats me differently. He’s told me he’ll look after me forever. That’s what I’ve always wanted.’

They had begun dating in June 2009 and wed at a church in Cranham, Gloucestershire, in June 2011, but split in 2015 and she confirmed their divorce three years later.

She told ITV show Loose Women they were sharing custody of their two children, saying: ‘We’re both really friendly – our kids go to school equidistant between our houses, so it works.’

Reports in 2015 had suggested that One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik had been interested in wooing Allen and sending her suggestive text messages. MailOnline has contacted his representatives for comment.

The Sun on Sunday quoted a source at the time as saying: ‘Zayn fancies Lily and has made that very clear.’

Allen’s friends are said to have described how Malik had fancied her since they met on a flight in 2013, when she posted a picture of 1D boarding the plane at a London airport.

She took to Twitter to write, ‘Not even joking 1direction are on my flight’, before jokingly adding: ‘Alas, no mile high club action with any member of 1D for me.’

Allen did have a romantic relationship between 2015 and 2018 with the MC Meridian Dan, with confirmation of their time together coming in court reports relating to an intruder at her home.

But she told the How To Fail podcast in January 2019 about their break-up after almost four years together, saying: ‘I’m single, for the first time since I was about 15.

‘I’ve just come back from a tour in America, which is where I was when things went wrong with Sam, and the same thing happened in my current relationship.

‘I mean, I didn’t take lots of drugs and have lots of sex with other people. I just became very lost.

‘It’s been bad news after bad news and the fact that I haven’t called him and been like, “Can you come round for a cuddle?”, is big for me,’

‘Ordinarily, when things get difficult I do need to have somebody around to share those problems with. The fact that I’m dealing with them on my own means I’m growing up.’

She then seemed to have found lasting love after meeting Harbour – and later spoke on her Miss Me? podcast about how he seduced her.

She told co-host Miquita Oliver as recently as July this year: ‘We went out on a couple of dates. We’d been out for dinner a couple of times and then the third time I went out with him we went to the theatre to go and see The Lehman Trilogy.

‘It’s a very long play, it’s in three parts, there’s two intervals. I think it was in the first bit of the play, the first third, he just like grabbed my hand and started like stroking it – almost like f***ing it with his hand or something.

‘It was the most intense thing. I was like very English, “Ooh my goodness, this person likes me – they want to be intimate with me”.

‘And then he like whispered in my ear – I guess it was obvious the first third was coming to a crescendo – he was like “Shall we just like get out of here?”

‘It was really hard to get tickets to this play as well. And then we left – and the rest was history.’

She added: ‘It was very intense. I hadn’t really had that (before). It’s not very British, is it – like on the third date, like literally grabbed my hand and started stroking me.

‘And it was in an environment that it was like I couldn’t like say anything. I was like, “Oh God”. It was hot.’

Lily Allen has spoken previously about how she did not recognise actor David Harbour when first seeing his profile on dating app Raya

The couple are pictured here at a press night performance of Stranger Things: The First Shadow at London’s Phoenix Theatre in December last year

The couple began dating in 2019 and wed in September the following year, after travelling to Las Vegas where they acquired a marriage license and exchanged vows with an Elvis Presley impersonator officiating.

Harbour himself opened up about their relationship during an appearance on the Miss Me? podcast in August this year, explaining what prompted him to propose.

He said: ‘I guess what happened was that I was in love with her but then we had some conversations where I realised she saw me in a very different way than anyone else has seen me.

‘And she really wanted me to be who I wanted to be. And I think that’s very rare in a relationship.

‘I think that people get into relationships and there winds up being a lot of control or a lot of sacrifice. I think it’s rare to have someone go, “I see these things in you and I understand that they’re important to you and I want you to do that”.

‘There is something that love can be very possessive, and I think with her it isn’t. It’s very genuine. I was like, “Woah, I’ve got to keep that near me” – put a ring on it.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Allen and Harbour for comment.
