Ghanaian comedian and skit-maker, SDK Dele, brought humour and some food for thought to the launch of the National Youth Festival — literally!
While addressing the audience at the official unveiling of the festival in Accra, SDK pitched a hilarious, yet eye-opening idea: let the boys learn how to cook!
“I would love if there will be some chef teaching people how to cook. Especially the men,” he said, sparking laughter before cheekily adding, “I won’t learn though, I’ll just be there to taste the food.”
The crowd couldn’t get enough of his delivery — but beneath the comedy was a deeper message.
SDK suggested that the festival should open its doors to Senior High School students, especially form three leavers, to give them an early experience of youth-driven events.
“If not for all the senior high schools, I think the form three or the last year that are finishing can join the festival to learn one or two,” he shared.
The National Youth Festival is expected to bring together young people from across the country to celebrate Ghanaian creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
