Iñaki Williams has reached a major milestone in his professional career after making his 500th appearance for Athletic Bilbao during their La Liga clash against Girona FC at the weekend.

The Ghana national football team forward has been a key figure for the Basque club since breaking into the first team in 2014, becoming one of the most consistent performers in the squad. His latest appearance sees him join the list of players with the most matches played for the Rojiblancos.

Across his 500 appearances in all competitions, Williams has scored 114 goals and provided 68 assists, underlining his importance to Athletic Bilbao’s attacking play over the years.

The 29-year-old has spent virtually his entire professional career with his boyhood club, aside from a brief spell with CD Basconia earlier in his development. He rose through the youth ranks before earning promotion to the senior team, where he established himself as a dynamic forward known for his pace, work rate and eye for goal.

Williams has also contributed significantly in domestic competitions, including Copa del Rey, helping the club remain competitive in Spanish football.

Internationally, he continues to play an important role for Ghana, bringing experience and attacking threat to the Black Stars.
