During the Sunday, May 18, 2025, church session, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, shocked a lot of people. In front of his congregation, he publicly made fun of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

A young man in the congregation received a prophecy from Prophet Owusu Bempah during the ceremony. He promised the young man he would shake hands with a president someday. The young man was supposed to be inspired and given hope for a promising future by the prophecy.

But when one of Prophet Bempah’s younger pastors offered a solution, the situation changed. Perhaps the young man would shake hands with former President Akufo-Addo at some point, the junior pastor remarked.

Prophet Owusu Bempah burst out laughing when Akufo-Addo’s name was mentioned. According to him, the former president’s name was inappropriate for such a significant forecast. In his opinion, the junior pastor could have chosen better names. He named former presidents John Dramani Mahama, John Agyekum Kufuor, Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, and even Vladimir Putin of Russia.

He asserted that the young man should shake hands with someone of that caliber, not Akufo-Addo, because these are well-respected and influential men. His remarks caused the congregation to chuckle, and the former president’s derision turned into the service’s high point.

Many people have been stunned by this public derision, particularly those who were aware that Prophet Owusu Bempah was once a fervent supporter of Akufo-Addo. The reason behind the shift in perspective is unclear, but it has sparked a lot of discussions among political analysts and on social media.
