I’m sad to confirm that former Member of Parliament for Hohoe, Bernice Adiku Heloo, has indeed passed away. She was a dedicated public servant who served as the MP for the Hohoe Constituency in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic, from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2021 .

Heloo was a development expert and a member of the National Democratic Congress. She was also the former president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa and the founder of Prolink, a Ghanaian NGO .

During her tenure as MP, Heloo was a strong advocate for her constituents and was known for her criticism of the government’s handling of certain issues, including the kidnapping of the Takoradi girls .

Her passing is a significant loss to the people of Hohoe and Ghana as a whole. May she rest in peace.
