Ghanaian rapper, Kirani Ayat, has disclosed that he no longer prioritises streaming numbers and statistics when making music, unlike before.

The ‘Guda’ hitmaker took to his X page to disclose how his mindset toward his craft has shifted now that he has a stable job outside of music.

According to Ayat, having a job that provides consistent income has relieved the pressure of focusing on numbers.

He explained that this change has made music creation enjoyable again, as he now prioritises artistic expression over commercial success.

“Having a job that pays me consistently has made making music enjoyable again for me. I’m not worried about numbers like I used to. Now I make what speaks to me, and if it speaks to my listeners, then that’s great,” he wrote.

Beyond numbers, Ayat also addressed the issue of industry lists and rankings, stating that he doesn’t care about being included in them.

While he acknowledged that some of his friends and fans have been pushing for his recognition on certain platforms, he doesn’t see these lists as a measure of success.

“I see a few of my fans and friends alerting people to add me to some list. I appreciate it, but I really don’t care. You can make a list and add anyone; it’s no measure of anything but personal preference and opinions, so don’t trip about it,” he added.
