Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Afrocentric artiste, Joseph Matthew, says he is not surprised that his new hit, Love In You, is currently regarded as the best reggae song in the country.

Since his 2019 debut, Joseph Matthew has steadily gained recognition, notably winning ‘Highlife Song of the Year’ for Promise Land and ‘Best Gospel Song of the Year’ for Blessed at the 2023 and 2024 Ghana Music Awards UK.

It will be recalled that Hot 93.9FM’s mid-year chart of the top 10 songs in the country featured Joseph Matthew’s Love In You.

The chart, which also included Shatta Wale’s Street Crown and Piesie Esther’s Nyame Ye, ranked Love In You—produced by Francis Osei—not only as one of the best songs in Ghana but also as the best reggae track.

Reacting in an interview on the Ay3 Hu Show, Joseph Matthew said he was not surprised by the recognition.

“To be honest, I wasn’t surprised the song was labelled the best reggae song… A lot went into it, from the production to the release… I knew it was going to go far,” he said.

The song is accompanied by a compelling live music video and adds to his growing discography, which includes Hallelujah, Nyame Ye, Blessed, Promise Land, and Fear No Evil.
