Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena has clarified that he is not a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), despite previously campaigning for them.

Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, the singer addressed speculations about his political affiliation.

When asked if he was still an NPP member, he firmly responded, “ No, I don’t belong to the NPP but I did stuff for them.”

He further stated, “I’ve never been a card-bearing” member. However, he admitted, “I did campaign, so I think I did it.”

The singer also shared a disappointing experience, recounting how he had an unfinished agreement with the NPP regarding the use of his songs during the 2024 election.

Despite this, he said they proceeded to use his voice without his permission.

“I was disappointed because it’s not right,” he said. “We must finish the conversation and make sure everything is okay, in terms of us all agreeing to the terms and conditions,” he added.
