The forward returned to the Porcupine Warriors club midway through the 2024/25 football season.

He starred in the finals of the MTN FA Cup against Golden Kick on Sunday, scoring both goals to propel Kotoko to clinch the trophy.

Kwame Opoku equally impressed in the Ghana Premier League, where he scored nine goals and provided two assists after making 17 appearances.

At the end of the football season, many fans have hailed the striker as the main man of the Asante Kotoko side.

Speaking to 3Sports after the FA Cup final, Kwame Opoku expressed excitement at the many praises he has received but stressed that he is only doing his job and is not a special player.

“I see myself like I’m just a normal player that I have to help my club, so it’s not anything special,” Opoku said.

He added, “If I started the league, maybe I would have done better.”

Kwame Opoku will be an important player for Asante Kotoko next season, especially in the CAF Confederation Cup.
