Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan has expressed admiration for the Ghana national football team’ newly unveiled away kit, praising its cultural significance and bold design.

Speaking on the development, the former Black Stars captain revealed he was envious of the current generation for having the opportunity to wear the striking gold-coloured jersey, which he believes strongly reflects Ghana’s identity.

“I always said I’m jealous I didn’t wear the gold colour when I was playing. We wore white and red. But this gold represents who we are,” Gyan stated.

The all-time leading scorer for Ghana emphasised that the colour choice goes beyond aesthetics, highlighting its deep connection to the nation’s heritage. According to him, gold symbolises strength, pride, and cultural richness.

His comments come as the Black Stars continue preparations for upcoming international competitions, with the new kit expected to play a symbolic role in boosting team identity and unity on the global stage.
