Striker Eddie Nketiah has said that he is enjoying his football with Crystal Palace, stressing that his focus remains entirely on the club despite growing speculation about his international future.

The forward, who holds dual citizenship, has been linked with a potential switch to represent Ghana.

Nketiah has featured in five Premier League matches and one EFL Cup game this season, scoring once for Palace.

His eligibility has made him part of a wider conversation about diaspora players, including Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, as Ghana prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to BBC Sport Africa, he kept the focus on club football. “At the moment, I’m just enjoying my football with Crystal Palace – that’s been my main focus,” he said.

“I’m Ghanaian and there’s no denying that. Obviously I’m proud of my roots and where I’ve come from. I’m sure the future will take care of itself and what will be will be.”

FIFA rules introduced in 2020 allow players to switch nationality if they have played no more than three competitive senior matches before turning 21 and have not appeared at a major tournament.

Nketiah meets these criteria, leaving the option open should he eventually decide to make the move.
