    A group of illegal miners have destroyed some parts of the Takoradi-Nsuta railway line, which once aided the transportation of tones of manganese from the Western Region.

    According to a post shared on social media on October 4, 2025, the destruction of the railway line has raised a lot of concerns from the public.

    Netizens have also expressed deep concern, calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the culprits.

    In a video attached to the post, the railway was captured in a dangerous and deplorable state with pits filled with muddy water beside it.

    In an alarming discovery, a group of brazen illegal miners have destroyed sections of the Takoradi-Nsuta Railway lines that once facilitated the haulage of tonnes of manganese in the Western Region.
