Ilhan Omar was attacked by a man who yelled that she ‘should resign’ before spraying an unknown liquid at the Minnesota Congresswoman.

Omar faced off with the angry protester after calling for Kristi Noem to resign while speaking about the recent Border Patrol shooting of Alex Pretti during a Minneapolis town hall.

‘DHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or face impeachment,’ Omar says in footage of the incident.

The protester runs toward Omar and sprays the mystery substance at her from what appears to be a syringe.

The man said something about Omar herself resigning and claimed she’s ‘tearing Minnesota apart’ before he was eventually taken away by what appeared to be two security guards.

Omar appeared ready to confront the man before he was dragged away as she mutters: ‘F**king a**hole.’

She then answers an inaudible question from the crowd with ‘I don’t know’ and telling another member of her team that she needs a napkin.

When one of the bystanders tells Omar she needs to ‘get checked’ for whatever was sprayed at her, she stands her ground, saying:  ‘We will continue. These f**king a**holes are not going to get away with it.’

The event was Omar’s first since the fatal ICE shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis, as well as the massive liberal protest movement in response to ICE’s presence in the city

Afterward, Omar – who was born in war-torn Somalia – briefly spoke about the attack.

‘I have survived war and I’m definitely going to survive intimidation and whatever these people think they can throw at me because I’m built that way,’ she said.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a spokesperson for Representative Omar and the Minneapolis Police Department for comment.

Following the shootings, House Democrats launched an investigation into Noem, while 140 members of the party have co-sponsored an impeachment resolution.

Democrats have come out swinging for Noem, as a large majority – 145 of 213 – of their House delegation now co-sponsors a bill that would see her impeached

The impeachment bill alleges that Noem has been self-dealing, obstructed Congress and violated public trust.

A spokesperson for DHS told Axios that the efforts were ‘silly’ and Democrats should focus on fixing crime problems in their districts.

The minority party will also launch an investigation into Noem’s work at DHS without any assistance from Republicans, The Washington Post reported.

Omar has faced renewed scrutiny from Republicans in the wake of the Minnesota daycare scandal.

On Tuesday night, President Trump again criticized her while at a rally with his base in Iowa.

‘We need people to come in legally, but they have to show that they can love our country, not hate our country…They have to show that they can love our country. They have to be proud. Not like Ilhan Omar.’

A House Republican investigation into Omar  has been launched after newly filed financial disclosures showed her family’s reported wealth exploding to more than $30 million in a single year.

The House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, is examining how the ‘Squad’ lawmaker and her husband rapidly amassed millions – at a time that a $9 billion Somali social services fraud scandal also exploded in her state.

Investigators are openly weighing subpoenas as they probe whether politically connected businesses tied to Omar’s family warrant deeper scrutiny, House Republicans said.

The investigation follows federal prosecutors opening a broader investigation into alleged industrial-scale fraud involving billions of dollars in social service funds in Minnesota.

Republicans say that scandal alone makes Omar’s apparent financial windfall impossible to ignore

‘We’re going to get answers, whether it’s through the Ethics Committee or the Oversight Committee, one of the two,’ Comer said to the New York Post

The scrutiny intensified after Omar’s 2024 financial disclosure revealed her family’s net worth ballooned, jumping from negligible assets to a valuation that could reach as high as $30 million in a single year, according to the ranges reported on the form.

In a video she posted to Instagram this week, the congresswoman scoffed at questions about whether she was connected to the fraud scandal emerging in her state this month.

‘Why would there be an allegation that I’m complicit? How would I be complicit?’ Omar snapped at a reporter.

When pressed further, she lashed out: ‘Do you just ask stupid questions?’

‘Nine billion, really?’ Omar said sarcastically referencing the reported level of the alleged fraud. ‘That is more than half of the resources that are allocated. So, you genuinely think 0 your brain has told you that it is possible for half of the resources for our public service to have disappeared? Listen to yourself.’

When the reporter cited Comer’s concerns during a House Oversight hearing, Omar doubled down.

‘That’s what Comer believes because he’s as smart as you are,’ she said. ‘There’s absolutely no goddam way.’

Omar has forcefully rejected any suggestion of wrongdoing. She has never been charged or formally accused of a crime in relation to the alleged Minnesota fraud scandal nor her husband’s soaring net worth.

This is a developing story.
