Ghanaian comedian DKB has taken to social media to mock the members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over an alleged payment of money to some social media influencers in exchange for advertisement.

In a post shared on X on November 14, 2024, DKB, who has declared his support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), raised concerns implying that if elections are not won on Twitter as said by the NPP, why would they pay for advertisements?

“Elections are not won on Twitter so why is your party campaigning on Twitter? Paying for ads and giving influencers money to post them? Or they like investing in unprofitable platforms?” he asked.

The staunch NDC supported further ridiculed members of the NPP for indicating that elections are not won on Twitter.

“Elections are not won on Twitter, only said by people who lose elections on Twitter,” he teased.

    Background

On October 26, 2024, influencer KalyJay claimed on social media that he had been offered $50,000 by the government and some senior ministers to stop criticising its actions.

Additionally, he claimed that the government suggested he create an NGO, into which the proposed $50,000 would be deposited.
