Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed his satisfaction after Medeama SC returned to winning ways with a precious 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders FC in their Ghana Premier League match-week 27 clash at the TnA Stadium.

Goals from Kelvin Obeng and Salim Adams ensured Medeama ended their six-game winless run in convincing fashion, putting in a solid performance to secure all three points at home.

The result sees the Mauves and Yellows climb back to the top of the table with 49 points, boosting their title ambitions as the season enters a crucial stage.

Tanko, praised his players for their response after a difficult run, highlighting the importance of the victory and the team’s overall display. “It’s very important that after six games without a win, we now have three points at home. It gives us a good feeling,” he told Medi TV.

He also acknowledged the threat posed by their opponents and commended his side for managing the game well. “They are a very good side, although they are at the bottom of the league. So, after going two goals up, we need to manage the game, and the boys did well. We also have to be careful to play without conceding, and I think the players did very well,” he added.

Medeama will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as they look to maintain their momentum.
