Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has urged his players to remain fully focused ahead of Medeama SC’s crucial Ghana Premier League match-day 33 encounter against Heart of Lions in Tarkwa.
The Mauve and Yellows head into Sunday’s clash at the TnA Stadium knowing victory could secure their second Ghana Premier League title in four seasons. Medeama currently lead the league table by five points with only two matches remaining.
Despite the advantage, coach Tanko insists his side cannot afford to relax as pressure continues to mount in the title race.
“We have to have a lot of conversations with the players. We are still leading the table, but I don’t think we should feel comfortable because we are playing at home. We have to prepare well, like any other game,” he told Medi TV.
The Medeama trainer also stressed the importance of securing maximum points before the final day of the season.
“We want to win this game so that our chances will be almost 90% before the last game. So definitely we are going to work hard for this game,” he added.
The potential coronation clash is expected to attract a huge atmosphere in Tarkwa, with Ghanaian music duo DopeNation scheduled to perform live at the stadium as part of the celebrations.
Kickoff for the title-defining fixture is scheduled for 15:00 GMT (3:00 PM) on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
