After nine games without finding the net, Ibrahim Osman finally ended his goal drought in dramatic fashion, scoring a late goal to seal Feyenoord’s victory over Groningen on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

The youngster has had a rollercoaster start to life at Feyenoord, displaying moments of brilliance in some matches while struggling for consistency in others.

Nevertheless, he showcased his skill with a stunning strike, his third league goal of the season in 18 appearances.

With Feyenoord already leading 3-1 and all three points seemingly secured, Osman latched onto a Gijs Smal pass at the edge of the box and expertly curled the ball into the bottom left corner.

It was Osman’s first goal since January, when he scored in Feyenoord’s 4-1 victory over Rijnsburgse.

Interestingly, that goal was also set up by Gijs Smal and was the fourth of the match, mirroring his latest strike against Groningen.

The win lifted the 2023 Eredivisie champions to third in the league standings as they chase an automatic spot in the 2026 Champions League.

For Osman, the hope remains that he can continue showcasing his talent and earn an opportunity to play for his parent club, Brighton, in the upcoming season.
