As is customary, the IBF held it’s annual “Welcome Cocktail” event to kickoff their 41st annual convention at “Churchill’s” in the Grand Ho Tram Resort, about 2+ hours outside of Ho Chi Min City.
This is always an event marked by getting reacquainted with old friends and colleagues, as well as making new acquaintances for the first time. Board members, referees, judges, promoters, managers, former champs, up-and-comers and guests from across the globe made the journey to be here.
While some were moderately rested after such a long journey, others had barely gotten off the plane and made the 2+ hour trip straight from the airport just in time to partake in cool refreshments and plenty of hors d’oeuvres and finger foods. Word to the wise for those who are inclined to carry the party on well into the night…it’s an early start tomorrow morning for the day-long tour to Ho Chi Min City (7 a.m.).
