Piesie Esther is a gospel musician

Ghanaian gospel singer Piesie Esther has stated that she will not publicly endorse any political party in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.

In an interview with Okay FM, when asked about the possibility of endorsing a political party, the artist expressed her preference for political neutrality to avoid alienating any segment of her fan base.

“I have fans across various political parties in the country, whether it be the NDC, NPP, or even Akua Donkor’s party. You know the political landscape in Ghana. If you are seen endorsing one party, people from other parties may not want to associate with you. I wouldn’t want to alienate any of my fans from other parties,” she explained.

Piesie Esther emphasized her desire to prioritize her ministry and ensure that her message of faith and inspiration reaches all her fans, regardless of their political affiliations. “For me, when it comes to politics, it’s important I remain neutral and focus on ministry,” she added.

Her remarks come as many creatives have publicly declared their political affiliations ahead of the upcoming general elections in Ghana. Notable figures such as musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong, actor Prince David Osei, gospel singer Diana Asamoah, and music producer Appietus have expressed support for the New Patriotic Party.

Conversely, several celebrities have aligned themselves with the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Mahama, including actors Wayoosi and Big Akwes, musician Nacee, comedian DKB, and gospel musician Jak Alolome.
