Ghanaian entertainment journalist, Highest Eri, has rendered an apology to the Ga community following comments she made about the use of Ga language in music.

One would recall that on May 16, 2025, Highest Eri advised Manye Fi to consider switching from Ga to Twi if she intends to break through the Ghanaian music industry.

According to her, more Ghanaians relate to Twi, and therefore, using it could help the young artiste to gain popularity in the country.

Her comments were met with criticism, particularly from those who felt she was dismissing the importance of Ga language in music.

However, in a recent appearance on Hitz FM on May 23, 2025, she has an apology, clarifying that she had no intention of disrespecting the Ga community and that her words had been poorly chosen.

“But I really want to say a very big sorry to Gas if they felt what I said wasn’t right. I am extremely sorry, I can never, I would never disrespect them,” Highest Eri said.

She went on to reference another interview granted by Manye Fi on Accra FM, stating that the singer herself did not take offence with her words.

“She even said on Accra FM with Nana Romeo yesterday. She said, ‘what I said wasn’t really bad,’” Highest Eri noted.

Highest Eri maintained that she felt compelled to make a public apology out of respect and unity.

“We are one Ghanaians. I am sorry. They should forgive me; they should forgive me. We are all one Ghanaian,” she added.
