Ghanaian rapper Medikal has expressed his support for fellow artiste Fameye following the latter’s outburst on a stage in the UK.

In an interview with Hitz FM, Medikal shared his thoughts on the matter, stating that he would also be upset if he experienced the same scenario on stage.

“I think he was right, because I’d be vexed if I’m performing and then you play another artist’s song. I don’t blame him,” Medikal said.

He urged that artistes should be able to have control of their performances and suggested that Fameye should have insisted on bringing his own DJ to avoid such an incident.

Medikal highlighted the need for promoters to understand the requirements of artists, including the necessity of having their team members present to ensure a smooth show.

“So these are some of the things the promoters outside should consider, they should know that these artists need to come with their DJs, managers, team members, and anyone who will make the show go well,” he added.

He called on promoters to consider these factors to avoid similar issues in the future.

This comes after Fameye was seen in a viral video angrily confronting a DJ and event organisers during his performance at the ‘Xmas Highlife concert’ in London on December 15, 2024.

Fameye was frustrated because the DJ did not play his requested songs and versions, disrupting his performance.

Despite rehearsing three times with the DJ, the issues persisted, leading Fameye to storm off the stage in frustration.

However, a statement released by his management on December 16, 2024, blamed the incident on unprofessional treatment from the event’s DJ.

They highlighted that efforts to bring Fameye’s official DJ were rejected by the organisers, who insisted on using their own DJ, ultimately impacting Fameye’s ability to deliver a performance.
