Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu says he won't allow any 'second funeral' for the late Lumba Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu says he won’t allow any ‘second funeral’ for the late Lumba

Following escalating tensions within the family of the late Daddy Lumba over a planned “celebration of life” reportedly being organised by the singer’s first wife and elder sister, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu has once again shared his position on the matter.

In a video shared on Instagram on February 28, 2026, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu stated that there will be no celebration of life for the late singer.

According to him, Ashanti tradition frowns upon organising two separate funeral ceremonies.

He added that Akosua Serwaa (Lumba’s wife) and Ernestina Fosu (Lumba’s elder sister)’s plan to hold another funeral ceremony will not take place.

“The funeral will not come off. There will be no celebration of life because I will place an injunction on it. There is no way anyone should be allowed to organise a funeral twice. We are done with Lumba’s funeral, so there will be no celebration of life,” he said.

He further noted that the family is doing its best to resolve any disputes between the late musician’s wives.

According to Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, he will ensure that all differences are settled before Lumba’s first anniversary.

“If we can bring all the women together, we will have a ceremony during his one-year observation. We will make sure we resolve this issue. But you bloggers are trying so hard to create problems within the family,” he added.
