Businessman and entrepreneur, Jerry Osei Amoah, affectionately called Nana Kobo has expressed his resolve to help solve housing challenges in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Housing deficit, a troubling situation in Accra is caused by rapid urbanization, high population growth and income disparities.

Over the years, efforts have been made by government to nip the situation in the bud, but to no avail, due affordability.

Against this backdrop, the Managing Director of Nako Properties, Mr. Jerry Osei Amoah has pledge his support to build 50 -100 single units and family size affordable units to solve accommodation problems in Accra.

He made this pledge during an interaction with a section of the media in Accra.

According to Mr. Osei Amoah, alot of teacher, nurses and even young doctors struggle with accommodation issues when they passed out or posted to work Accra.

” I have been thinking and having dreams of how to solve this issue and am happy God has made it possible for this opportunity to come through,” he said.

He noted that this initiative will allow nurses , doctors, teachers and even self employed ghanains to have decent accommodation with their meagre income.

He said even though Nako Properties builds luxury homes for a certain class of people, it important for private business to partner with government to solve societal issues, “government alone cant solve all the issues.”

Against this backdrop, he revealed that the right measures have been put in place for affordable housing to ease the Accra’s accommodation problems.

He concluded by saying, with the innovative construction, rent schemes coupled with their strategic partnerships, there is hope for the housing sector in Ghana.
