The owner of King Faisal Football Club, Alhaji Karim Grunsah, has threatened to bring to light the rot in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League regarding match-fixing.

He claimed he had evidence to substantiate his claims of four clubs involved in the act and would make it public.

The bankroller of King Faisal asserted that he wanted to make the match-fixing issues public; however, officials of the clubs involved implored him to desist because of the repercussions it would have on them.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Alhaji Grunsah said he would like an independent body to probe the case thoroughly.

“This season’s [2024/25] league is very bad. I have evidence of fixed games played in the Ghana Premier League, and some of the clubs involved have started begging.

“I have evidence of three or four fixed matches in the league. I want an independent observer or body to give the final judgment,” he said in Twi.

Football fans and sports personalities have raised concerns about the credibility of the league due to the nature of some scorelines recorded.

However, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) maintains that such acts do not exist in the league because measures have been put in place to prevent match-fixing.

The GFA has yet to respond to Alhaji Grunsah’s claims.
