One of the most influential rappers in Ghana, Kwaw Kese, has revealed that he played a key role in shaping the careers of several top artistes, including Stonebwoy, Opanka, and Sarkodie.

In an interview on TV3, the “Abodam” hitmaker said he made a huge impact in Stonebwoy’s rise to fame by being the first artiste to feature him on a song.

According to him, their collaboration on “No More” in the early 2010s was the project that brought Stonebwoy into the limelight.

The entertainment industry is full of fake people – Kwaw Kese

Kwaw Kese explained that his contribution to the Ghanaian music industry goes beyond his hits, as he has helped groom a number of artistes who are now household names.

“I groomed talents. I am the first person to do a song with Stonebwoy, not once, but twice and my song blew up Stonebwoy. I did same with Opanka and he became big after that. And we did same on ‘You Dey Craze,’ Hammer’s song, and that was when Obidi was discovered,” he said.

Kwaw Kese’s comments also revisited his past relationship with Sarkodie. In 2021, the rapper criticized Sarkodie, calling him “arrogant” and “ungrateful.”

He made that comment during an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, where he expressed disappointment over how Sarkodie had distanced himself despite the help he received in his early days.

At the time, Kwaw Kese said he had tried reaching out to Sarkodie several times but got no response.

However, in his latest appearance on TV3, when asked about his relationship with Sarkodie now, he clarified that they are on good terms.

“We are good, I don’t have any problem with anybody, sometimes I dey talk my mind just like how everybody also talks their mind,” he stated.
