Ghanaian singer, AratheJay, has recounted the shock he experienced after discovering Black Sherif’s verse on his much-anticipated “Jesus Christ” song.

In an interview with GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar, shared on social media on July 17, 2025, AratheJay noted that he had no idea his management was working with Black Sherif on the remix of his song.

He explained that he only got to know there was a “Jesus Christ 2” after his management played the song to his hearing.

“I knew a couple of people who knew Black Sherif at that time and all I wanted from him was to listen to my songs. I prayed that one day we would link up.

“So, I am just there, and the next thing I hear is his voice on my song, and I talked to the team and found out they had a conversation behind me,” he said.

AratheJay also thanked Black Sherif for agreeing to do a remix of his “Jesus Christ 2.”

According to AratheJay, he didn’t anticipate that the “Dreamer” hitmaker would agree to feature on his song due to his religious background.

“Big love to him for deciding to do a song named Jesus Christ despite his religion (Muslim) and understanding the greater message. It is not about religion, we are propagating a positive message,” he added.
