Ghanaian boxer, Ayittey Powers has said that he was absolutely stunned when Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won the 2016 presidential elections to become President of Ghana.

According to him, his late spiritual father, Prophet TB Joshua, told him that Akufo-Addo was not ordained by God to lead the country and therefore would never be elected.

Speaking in an interview with Okay FM, the retired boxer noted that the outcome of the elections made him question the credibility of the late Nigerian pastor.

“Prophet TB Joshua really liked me. He told me almost 10 years ago that, at that time, I don’t want to talk about politics, but when Akufo-Addo became president, I questioned myself if Prophet TB Joshua lied to me. But I know he can’t lie. He told Akufo-Addo that God had not chosen him as president, so he would never become one. So I was shocked when he became president,” he said.

Ayittey Powers added that he was not surprised that former President Akufo-Addo’s tenure in office was plagued with crises that inflicted hardship on Ghanaians in the latter stages of his governance.

“During his tenure, things were bad in the country,” he remarked while speaking on the former president’s performance in office.
