Amid the ongoing marital crisis between Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, the actress has revealed that she once attempted to take her own life after her family opposed her decision to marry the senator.

In a video posted on her Instagram page on November 5, 2025, Regina Daniels defended her mother, dismissing claims that she was forced into the marriage.

According to the actress, she was deeply in love with Ned Nwoko and was willing to go to extreme lengths to be with him, even when her entire family opposed the relationship.

‘Stop saying I got married to Ned Nwoko because of his money’ – Regina Daniels

“Stop insulting my mother. She’s the best woman on earth. She warned me. My brothers warned me. Everybody warned me. Nobody’s going to cry on this camera. Everybody warned me, and then I drove out at night. I was going to kill myself if I didn’t marry Ned,” she said.

The actress recounted another incident when she took her frustrations to a police station, demanding to be arrested because her family disapproved of her relationship.

“I went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me. My family does not want me to marry the love of my life.’ But I actually did fall in love. It’s crazy, but I did. And I still care and respect him. That’s love. What is love? Care and respect,” she recounted.

Regina Daniels also addressed the current tension in her marriage, which has been exacerbated by reports that Senator Nwoko allegedly ordered the arrest of her siblings.

Despite the turmoil, she said she has chosen not to fight him, out of respect for their children and his public reputation.

“And the only reason I am not fighting you, Ned, is because I really want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to be strong,” she added.
