Reggae/dancehall musician Stonebwoy and his management team have come under fire from Ghanaian disc jockey DJ Lord OTB for treating him disrespectfully during his performance at the recent Guinness Accravaganza show.

DJ Lord, one of numerous on-call DJs at the event on Saturday, March 29, claims that Stonebwoy, the main performer, slapped him with a reprimand from his management team for playing Shatta Wale songs to keep the crowd interested.

The award-winning DJ detailed the terrible event in a long social media post, expressing shock at Stonebwoy’s team’s lack of professionalism.

He claimed that until he was told to stop, the audience was enjoying the Wale songs he was playing.

“I was told to stop playing Shatta Wale’s music right away at the request of Stonebwoy’s management. Is it possible? This is clearly insulting and unprofessional, especially considering my experience as a DJ. OTB was written by DJ Lord.

DJ Lord lamented the practice, contending that a DJ’s choice of music shouldn’t be dictated by a headline act. He went on to say that Stonebwoy’s crew erred once more by interrupting another artist’s scheduled performance.

It’s not only that I feel degraded. Here, the issues are far more serious. Artist management consistently overreacts and acts as though they are in complete control. DJ Lord stated, “Despite the fact that we are the ones who maintain the energy and ensure that events go smoothly, DJs and MCs continue to be viewed as irrelevant.” “And worst of all, the entire industry now appears petty as personal feuds between artists are being used to dictate what music is played at events.”

“Ghana’s music industry will remain in the doldrums until all these trivial matters are resolved and professionalism is restored,” he continued.
