Mario Balotelli is a former striker of Italy

Italian striker, Mario Balotelli has revealed that he still dreams of playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid as he searches for what could be the final chapter of his storied career.

The 34-year-old striker, who turns 35 on August 12, 2025, has been without a club since leaving Genoa in June 2025 after a short stint in the Serie A where he made just six appearances.

Speaking to Gazzetta, Balotelli said he is determined to find a team willing to believe in him for the next stage of his career.

“I’m looking for a club that trusts me. I want to play another two to three years,” he said.

When asked about his ideal move, the former Manchester City striker revealed that he dreams of joining Real Madrid while adding that his ultimate plan is to retire alongside his younger brother Enock Barwuah.

“Playing in Real Madrid,” he admitted.

Enock currently plays for Vado in Italy’s amateur leagues, and Balotelli says ending his career there would fulfil a promise.

“Now he plays for Vado among the amateurs. We’ll see. However, I promised him that I will end my career playing with him,” he further stated.

Balotelli’s career has been one of both brilliance and controversy. Having represented 12 different clubs across Italy, England, France, Switzerland, and Turkey, he has enjoyed spells with some of Europe’s biggest names, including Inter Milan, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
