Celebrated Ghanaian actress and media personality, Nana Ama McBrown, has opened up about the mindset that has kept her relevant and loved by many Ghanaians throughout her 25-year career in the entertainment industry.

Speaking in an interview with 1957 News on February 5, 2026, McBrown described herself as both lovable and business-minded, stressing that she approaches her brand like a marketer.

According to her, although she may not have formal training in marketing, her street knowledge and experience have taught her how to treat people and clients with respect.

“I’m lovable. What people forget is that I’m a marketer, and as a marketer, I may not have gone to school for that certificate but I have my knowledge on the street,” she said.

She explained that she considers Ghanaians as her clients and believes building genuine relationships with them has contributed significantly to her success.

“I market a lot of things, so I make sure that I treat my clients well. I see Ghanaians as my clients and I’ve become a family to them as well,” she stated.

McBrown noted that she always makes an effort to smile and engage people she meets because their support sustains her brand and the many companies she represents.

‘I delete negative comments to protect my peace’ – Nana Ama McBrown

“Some people think when a customer patronizes you and they’re gone, that’s all. Even when I meet you anywhere, I would always be smiling at them because I want their attention.

“Since I work with many brands, I know you have definitely bought something from even one of the brands, so whether you like me or not, I see you as my customer,” she shared.

Reflecting on her long journey in television, the actress said she remains grateful to Ghanaians for their continuous support.

“It’s been 25 years on TV and I know that one way or the other, you’ve seen me somewhere or I’ve made you smile one day. So I feel I can’t take Ghanaians for granted. I feel my progress and my success are all from you,” she said.

She further emphasised that fame does not make anyone more important than others.

“You’re a musician, or being on TV doesn’t mean you’re more important than someone,” she added.
