Reverend Gideon Danso and his wife, Gina Nipah

Lead Pastor of Empowerment Worship Centre, Reverend Gideon Danso, has revealed that he married his fiancée, Gina Nipah, in a simple ceremony that cost only GH¢600.

The announcement was made during a church sermon on April 27, 2025, barely a week after the pastor introduced his fiancée to the congregation. The couple tied the knot in a private event without elaborate preparations.

In a video making waves on social media, Apostle Reverend Ben Doku, founder of Overcomers Outreach Family Church, formally introduced the newlyweds to the Empowerment Worship Centre congregation in a Facebook video.

“I came here to announce to you that in the course of the week, something happened. What happened is that your lead pastor, Prophet Gideon Danso, got married. I’m here to announce to you that God has given you a mother,” Apostle Doku declared.

As the couple stepped forward, the congregation erupted in cheers to celebrate their pastor’s new marital status.

In response, Pastor Danso shared details of their modest wedding, emphasising that the ceremony was intentionally simple.

“Whether you believe it or not, it cost me GH¢600. There was no makeup, no suit, no veil. I called Reverend, he came, we signed, we took vows, he blessed us, we served Malt and Fanta. No food, no nothing. I don’t owe anybody,” he said.

He praised his wife for her understanding and support, stating that her willingness to forgo a lavish wedding allowed them to prioritise their future.

“I want to thank God for Gina. This girl is special. She has saved my pocket to build a church and a house for us to live in. I’m praying that at Stand in the Gap on Sunday, I will have prepared food for everybody to eat and worship the Lord. But between now and then, I’m a married man with GH¢600. It wasn’t planned; it happened the way God wanted it. The Lord has done it. It is finished,” he concluded.
