Ghanaian food content creator and award-winning chef, Abena Amoakoa Sintim-Aboagye, popularly known as Chef Abbys has disclosed how she turned her love for cooking into a successful career.
Speaking in an interview with Roselyn Felli on October 4, 2025, Chef Abbys mentioned that she realised she had a lot of love for cooking so in the process of doing what she loves, she could get something from it.
According to her, she transitioned from cooking for fun in her own home and made it a full-time career. Fortunately, she has succeeded in the path she took.
“I realised I had a lot of love for cooking and since that’s what I love doing, I could get something out of it. I turned the love I have for cooking and made it 9 to 5.

“I like to teach people how to cook, I like to encourage people, I’m a kitchen girl so I just took it as my profession and it’s working for me” she said.
Her audience began requesting tutorials on traditional Ghanaian meals like stews and soups.
Encouraged by the interest, she experimented with new dishes, one of which was mac and cheese, her first professionally prepared and posted meal on social media.
“The first meal I prepared was mac and cheese. I honestly had no idea of why I made mac and cheese. Basically, I have a snapchat community where I used to teach them how to cook so the food I cook in my house to eat, I just take videos and post on my snap” Chef Abbys shared.
She added, “People were interested so they ask if I can teach them how to make stew and soup. One day I just went to the market, bought mac and cheese ingredients and I thought I could combine and post on TikTok.”
