Ghanaian songstress, Gyakie, has opened up about her creative process, revealing that storytelling plays a major role in how she writes her music.

Speaking in an interview on Showbiz 360 on November 23, 2025, the award-winning artiste said she has discovered that her songwriting goes beyond simply creating melodies or rhyming words.

“I think I’ve just come to discover that I don’t just music for the words to rhyme or for it to sound like a song. I think I speak because when I’m writing the music, I listen to the beats, I know what I want to talk about and I just start writing like I’m writing a book,” she said.

Using her song `Is it worth it’ as an example, Gyakie explained that her lyrics can be read and understood even without listening to the melody.

She highlighted the effort she puts into crafting narratives in her work.

“If you listen to a song like `Is It Worth It’, you can still read the lyrics without listening to the song and you will understand what I’m talking about,” she disclosed.

She shared that she enjoys expressing her thoughts freely through her music, without holding back.

Gyakie also noted that she is exploring music production as part of her artistic journey.

“I really love doing a lot of storytelling, bringing out everything that comes from my mind without filtering it. Now I’m a baby producer, I’m trying,” she added.
