Kofi Nti is a Ghanaian Highlife musician

Highlife singer Kofi Nti has shared his initial perception of the late Daddy Lumba.

In a discussion on Adom TV, which was shared on Instagram on September 1, 2025, Kofi Nti revealed that he wasn’t originally a fan of the legendary musician.

Explaining his reasons, Kofi Nti said his early dislike for Daddy Lumba stemmed from an old rift between him (Lumba) and Nana Acheampong following the dissolution of their Lumba Brothers group.

“I wasn’t a fan of Lumba. Actually, I was a fan of Nana Acheampong because it got to a time when the two were not on good terms. So my mother was an Acheampong fan, so I automatically became his fan,” he said.

Kofi Nti then disclosed what suddenly changed his narrative about Lumba.

According to him, he started listening to Lumba’s songs when a co-tenant identified that he could sing like the highlife legend.

“There was this woman in our house. She loved playing Lumba’s songs. So when she plays the songs, she tells me to listen carefully because I sing like him.

“And because I love music, I started listening to Lumba’s songs, and that was how I became a fan. Even when I used to sing Lumba’s songs, people would praise me and I would still claim that I am a fan of Nana Acheampong,” he added.

Meanwhile, the one-week observation for the late Daddy Lumba has been held at the Black Star Square on August 30, 2025.
