It is widely known that Dr. Kwaku Oteng has more than one wife.
However, since the exact number of wives he has is unclear, netizens have speculated their own figures.
Setting the records straight, the founder of Angel Group of Companies has confirmed that he is married to only two women.
In an interview on Angel FM, he said, “People say I have six wives; others say five. When did I marry all these women and I’m not even aware of it? I am married to just two women.”
He recounted a particular incident during his mother’s funeral when people mistakenly identified one of his female friends as the mother of his first daughter.
“I remember when my mother died and I was busy mourning. There was this woman who is my friend. She was sitting right next to my wife. My first daughter was also sitting beside them. At the funeral, people said that the lady sitting next to my wife was the mother of my first child. Oh, how?”
“Others were also claiming that I was taking turns spraying several women, whom they assumed were my wives,” he stated.
Speaking about how such rumours affect him, he said, “Sometimes I hear these lies, and I’m stunned. About 98% of the things said about me out there are lies. I hear all these things but I barely respond to them because if you fight your own fight, God will not fight for you.”
When asked why he thinks people have the courage to spread false information about him, he added, “I barely speak. It’s true that I have a lot of radio stations, but I even rarely speak on air. It’s not because I can’t, but because I don’t like it. That’s why people spill lies about me, and I’m unable to defend myself.”
He also addressed individuals who profit from spreading lies about him online.
“There are people who can’t even afford toothpaste to brush their teeth but will sit online and insult you. It’s painful. They use me to gain traction and make money from it,” he stated.
Dr Kwaku Oteng has been a topic of online discussions, especially following his recent divorce from his wife, Akua Amoakowaa.
He also made headlines when it was rumoured that he demoted his son, Samuel Acheampong, from his position as CEO of Angel Broadcasting Network to manager of Angel FM Kumasi.
Also, there were wild rumours, including one that claimed he was the father of Tracey Boakye’s daughter, and he was even tagged as the ‘Papano’ that Tracey was associated with.
