Bimbo Ademoye has had enough, and she made sure her 5.1 million followers knew exactly where she stands.

The AMVCA-winning actress took to her Instagram page to address the growing wave of criticism surrounding her ongoing giveaways, and the statement she dropped was equal parts frustration, clarity, and a very direct warning to anyone thinking about crossing a line with her.

It started with her movie hitting 10 million views in just 10 days, a milestone she openly credits to her fans. Off the back of that, she ran a giveaway as a way of giving back, and what followed was something she clearly did not expect. People flooded her DMs accusing her of running fake giveaways. Others screamed favouritism. And at least one person decided the appropriate response was to call her a “stingy goat.”

That last one, she said, was where things went too far.

She broke down the math for anyone struggling to understand why she cannot simply give everyone what they want. With 5.1 million followers, giving each person even 100,000 naira would amount to 510 billion naira. Her response to that figure was delivered in the most Nigerian way possible. “I no get, my papa no get, my forefathers no get!” She is doing this from her own pocket, she stressed, not from any sponsorship or bottomless account.

She also pushed back hard on the favouritism angle, pointing out that she specifically bars her friends and family from participating in her giveaways precisely to avoid any appearance of bias. The irony of being accused of favouritism while actively taking steps to prevent it was clearly not lost on her.

But it was the disrespect she kept coming back to. Bimbo made it clear that the easy, familiar energy she shares with her audience online has limits, and those limits exist regardless of whether someone is a fan or a stranger. “We might kiki, catch cruise and all, but when you cross the line, I can be petty enough to find you, then we can handle it one on one,” she wrote, signing off that section with a pair of “LET US ALL BE GUIDED” that left very little room for misinterpretation.

She also wanted the record straight on one more thing. The giveaways people are seeing publicly are not the full picture of what she gives. She said she has parted with millions privately, with nobody watching and nobody clapping, and that this public giveaway is simply her way of having fun while doing something good for her community.

She wrapped the post by congratulating the winner of her last question, @datsweetclassybae, who walked away with 200,000 naira and a Winston Leather bag, before immediately launching the next round with a new question for another 100,000 naira and a pair of Gbemisoke shoes.

The giveaway, it seems, continues. The tolerance for nonsense, however, does not.
