Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has disclosed that her journey in the music industry has been sustained largely by her faith in God, discipline, and hard work.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on November 27, 2025, the artiste mentioned that her early years in the industry were extremely challenging, but she depended on God for strength and direction.
Wendy Shay explained that entering the industry came with difficulties, pressure, and intense competition, but her trust in God helped her stay grounded.
“I relied on God because when I entered the music industry, things were difficult but I had only God. The work and efforts I put in made me realise that I’m here to stay,” she said.
She shared that seeing her work appreciated by Ghanaians confirmed to her that she was destined for success.

The award-winning singer stated that her consistency is the result of staying focused and keeping her eyes on her goals.
“My hard work was also appreciated so I can say it’s God’s grace. I stayed focus and set my eyes on the prize,” she noted.
Wendy Shay further said that she has grown to understand who she is, which helps her avoid unnecessary conflicts or reactions to criticism.
“I’ve come to know who I am so if you don’t talk about me, I won’t talk about you and even if you talk about me, I won’t mind you. I know where to channel my energy to so I’ve been very discipline and principled,” she added.
