Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has disclosed that he does not pressure himself for his songs to become hits.

Speaking in an interview on 3Music on November 4, 2025, Medikal stated that he is content as long as a few people appreciate his music.

According to him, he values authenticity and personal satisfaction over widespread popularity.

“If I do music and even 5 people like the song, I’m cool. I don’t take it personal that my songs have to blow,” he said.

He also stated that despite the popularity of his hit song ‘Shoulder,’ his personal favorites are rather Baddie and DND.

“With all the songs I’ve recorded, I can’t say my favorite song from myself is ‘Shoulder.’ My favourites are Baddie and DND.

“You won’t really hear them in clubs, and they are not loud compared to ‘Shoulder.’ ‘Shoulder’ is everywhere, but songs like Baddie is yet to be noticed,” he shared.

Medikal further noted that one of his favourite songs, Baddie, contains explicit themes which he believes makes it relatable to many people.

“The content in Baddie is very sexual, and I think many people can relate,” he added.
