Controversial Ghanaian actress Kisa Gbekle has opened up about the backlash she received for her attire at fellow actress Tracy Boakye’s daughter’s fourth birthday party earlier this year.

In an interview with Accra FM, Gbekle addressed the negative comments and shared her perspective on the incident, which happened in April.

She explained that she was late for the party and picked the only dress she had, which suited the dress code.

“I was actually late, and I didn’t really look at myself. But my son said, ‘Mommy, you look so pretty. I love your dress.’

“I’m sorry it did not work well for people who watched the video or were at the party. But I don’t think we really have problems. Yeah, it’s a kid’s party, but the attire was white, and I didn’t have any other white dress, and I didn’t want to look odd. Some people actually insulted me. But I didn’t let it affect me. It’s fine. It’s okay,” she said.

When asked if she regretted her choice of outfit, Gbekle firmly stated, “I never regret anything.”

Gbekle also reflected on how she is perceived by the public, stating that she used to engage in worse activities in her younger days.

“People have forgotten who I was. I used to wear only a bra and shorts and take pictures. Gone are the days I used to do all of that. I was in the news all the time,” she added.

She emphasised that her public persona is different from her private life.

“In my life, aside from social media and show business, I’m a different person. But for show business, I am perceived differently. I’ve never been to a club before. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, and I don’t stay out at night.”
