Gospel musician Francis Amo has stated that he harbours no disappointment over his inability to win an award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) throughout his career.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on February 8, 2026, the singer explained that he has never allowed awards to define his success in the music industry.

According to him, the musicians he admired while growing up did not place emphasis on awards, and that mindset has shaped his approach to his own career.

“I’m not disappointed that I’ve never won an award at TGMAs. Because of the people I was looking up to when I was coming up in the industry, I’ve not been pressured to win an award,” he said.

Francis Amo noted that he strongly believes recognition will come naturally at the right time without lobbying or external influence.

“I believe when the time is right, the awards will come. I know that when they want to award an artiste or someone, they call him, but they don’t give him conditions before he is awarded. They’re getting it because of their hard work,” he shared.

The gospel artiste also disclosed that he does not support voting schemes as a requirement for artistes to win awards.

“I don’t believe in voting schemes before someone will be given an award,” he added.
