Blakk Rasta recounted rubbing shoulders with some of the world's most powerful figures Blakk Rasta recounted rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s most powerful figures

Renowned Ghanaian musician, Blakk Rasta, has said that his acclaimed musical career, which includes performances for world leaders, has not yielded the financial rewards he expected.

The artiste, whose real name is Abubakar Ahmed, was spotted at a church in the East African nation of Uganda, where he lamented to Prophet Samuel Kakande about his financial and health struggles.

In the viral video, Blakk Rasta recounted rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s most powerful figures, stating, “I have met some of the biggest presidents in the world. Like Barack Obama, I performed for him when he came to Ghana. In fact, I made the song that brought him to Ghana. I’ve met with Robert Mugabe at his 92nd anniversary… He invited me to perform for him.”

Despite this illustrious international recognition and a substantial body of work, the musician said he was disappointed with the outcome.

“I know I do very good music; I have about 13 albums to my name but it doesn’t give me the money that I expect,” he lamented to the pastor.

This video comes amid long-standing concerns raised about the financial challenges some veteran artistes face, even after decades in the industry and significant cultural contributions.
