Ghanaian rapper Trigmatic has noted that he does not approve of the ideology whereby some individuals are calling for the removal of veterans from the creative arts industry.

In an interview on TV3’s Day Show on November 14, 2024, Trigmatic noted that the expertise of veterans is still needed to improve the music industry.

“No, I disagree with that ideology that we don’t need the old people in charge of affiars. You still need the old people to an extent. But it is a two-way street because the old people also need fresh ideals from the young ones. If there is a fresh mind coming onboarding, the person should come with a mind set of blending his ideas with the old ones.

“But if the idea is for the old person to leave so the new one takes charge, that is why we have a lot of old people sabotaging the system. So I think its more about collaboration than giving it to a whole new generation to take over,” he said.

Trigmatic further called on artistes in the country to acquire multiple streams of income in order to avoid going broke in their old age.

“Yes! I have that fear for the greater number, especially the new generation, because when we see the old musicians go broke, I say to myself, these are something we can learn from.

“Also, artistes need to diversify. They need to have a vision; they should do other businesses, and there is nothing wrong with that. I see music as a stepping stone to a lot of other opportunities, so artiste should link up with great people they meet and create opportunities from it,” he added.

Trigmatic is a Ghanaian musician who has numerous songs to his credit.

He has songs like “My Life,” “Hold Yuh,” “Diplomatic Teef,” and many others.
