Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has responded to allegations that he inappropriately touched a female fan during a performance at the Evandy Hall Week celebrations.
Medikal came under heavy criticism after he was accused of deliberately touching the fan’s buttocks while hugging her on stage.
However, in response to the backlash, the “Omo Ada” hitmaker has firmly denied any intentional misconduct.
According to him, the narrative being circulated online is misleading and part of an agenda to damage his reputation.
“I was performing at Evandy and invited one of my fans on stage. I wanted us to dance, but she told me she had a boyfriend, so I respected that and let her go. While hugging her, I accidentally touched her buttocks. It wasn’t intentional, people are reading too much into it,” he explained.
Medikal also cautioned social media users against spreading false information, emphasising that he holds his fans, especially women, in high regard.
“To those guys who sit around spreading fake news about me, stop it. I won’t intentionally invite someone on stage and disrespect her like that.
“And to those calling it sexual harassment, stop that nonsense. I respect women, especially my fans. I don’t joke with my fans, so stop spreading the wrong narrative,” he said.
