Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has addressed his relationship with his fanbase, insisting that he does not pressure anyone to support him.

Speaking during a recent Instagram Live session, he questioned critics with a rhetorical, ‘I force anybody to be my fan?’ emphasizing that fandom, in his view, should be entirely voluntary.
His comments come shortly after a viral incident in which he escorted a concert attendee out of his show for sleeping during his performance.
Responding to public reactions, Burna Boy added that if he were ever to seek new supporters, he would prefer those who have money this period, jokingly noting that ‘pepper dey body,’ a local expression meaning that economic hardship is widespread.
According to Burna Boy, authenticity, not pressure, is what drives his bond with fans.
Below are some of the comments;
“The only thing business I have with these artists is to download their music on platforms and listen, no be me go attend their concerts or shows and be doing fan zone.”
“Lol, glad I don’t even see these artists as any god, like the way their fans worship them. The only business I have is to listen; I don’t even bother downloading their music, just go on music platforms and listen. All the best to him.“
“See what y’all are cheering for, Someone who doesn’t have human compassion or care.
But meanwhile, some of you still think Davido does too much and is always looking for attention. It is well.“
“Can you hear Mumu talk… You’re nothing without your fan… Even Eminem said what you did to that lady is wrong… You can fact-check me.“
