Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has taken to social media to share his first encounter with rapper Edem.

In a post shared on X on July 23, 2025, Sarkodie noted that he believed Edem would have a positive impact on the Ghana music industry.

He cited how, after his first time meeting Edem, he expressed to his colleagues that the rapper was going to be great.

“Undoubtedly one of the greatest albums in Ghana’s music history!!! I remember when I first encountered my brother @iamedem. I came back home to tell one of my hommies that this guy will have a serious impact on the music scene,” he said.

He added that his friend doubted him, citing his style of music and language as a barrier.

According to Sarkodie, Edem is among his favourite rappers in the country.

“He was like ‘naa’ because of the language barrier, I said I don’t hear language, I hear greatness!!! Big up my brother, you’re still on my fav mcee list,” he added.
