Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has pushed back against claims that he is rude, insisting that his personality is often misunderstood.

According to him, what many perceive as arrogance is actually deep passion and drive for his music career.

Speaking in an interview on Prime Time on Joy Prime, Medikal explained that his relentless dedication to his craft fuels both his work ethic and his success.

“People say I’m rude but I’m not. I’m passionate and driven with my career. It’s the passion that drives me to new levels in life,” he said.

The rapper noted that his hunger for progress keeps him constantly working, even when he is already on top of the charts.

“I might have the hottest song today and still wake up to go to the studio the next day. I’m hungry for what I do. That’s what gears and energizes me to keep pushing forward,” he added.

Medikal emphasized that repetition and consistency remain critical ingredients in his journey, attributing his rise in the music industry to his natural ability and unwavering commitment.

“My journey has been built on talent. It’s my talent that has taken me far. Talent is the prime source of my success,” he stated.

Beyond entertainment, Medikal said his music helps listeners cope with real-life challenges.

“I rap to entertain and help people get over their problems and depressions,” he noted.

Responding to critics who label him as rude or boastful, the “Omo Ada” hitmaker suggested that negativity often masks admiration.

“Love is derived from hate. My haters love me,” he said confidently.

Medikal also spoke about his relationship with singer Sister Derby, describing their current rapport as positive and supportive.

He said she has been kind to him throughout his career and that they continue to maintain mutual respect.

The award-winning rapper concluded the interview by outlining the legacy he hopes to leave behind.

“I want people to remember me for my realness. I’m a real guy,” he stated, reaffirming his commitment to authenticity in both his life and music.
