Ghanaian content creator ZionFelix has cleared the air over speculation about his health after a social media post about HIV sparked questions among some of his followers.

The popular media personality recently shared a post carrying the message, “HIV is real,” which appeared to prompt some social media users to read more into the statement than he intended.

Some followers subsequently began asking whether ZionFelix was revealing that he had contracted HIV, leading to speculation about his health and the reason behind the post.

Addressing the questions, ZionFelix made it clear that he is not HIV positive and explained that his message was not a disclosure about his personal health.

According to him, the post was inspired by a conversation he had following an interview. The discussion centred on HIV and the need for more public education about the condition, particularly at a time when misinformation and stigma continue to shape how people respond to those living with the virus.

ZionFelix said the conversation convinced him that there was a need for broader education and greater awareness about HIV, rather than silence and fear surrounding the subject.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to the public to stop stigmatizing people living with HIV. He stressed that contracting the virus should not make anyone a target for discrimination, ridicule or social rejection.

The content creator further encouraged people living with HIV to take their prescribed medication and remain committed to treatment. Effective HIV treatment can help people manage the virus and live healthier lives, making access to accurate information and medical care particularly important.

His clarification comes after what appeared to be a simple awareness message was interpreted by some social media users as a personal revelation.

ZionFelix therefore urged the public to focus on the broader message behind his post, which was intended to promote awareness, encourage responsible conversations about HIV and remind people that the virus remains a real public health issue.
